I am a self-taught artist, with a slightly eccentric background. Born in Zimbabwe, I grew up in South Africa, where I qualified as a goldsmith. After moving to London I worked for eight years as workshop assistant to the artist-jeweller Wendy Ramshaw, as well as designing and producing catwalk ranges for Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.
In my late twenties I decided to pursue a lifelong ambition to work with wildlife, gaining a degree in Zoology at King's Collage, London. After graduating I moved to Jersey, Channel Islands, to work with the gorilla group at Durell Wildlife Trust.
In 2009 I took the decision to return to a full time career in design and making, and set up my sculpting and casting studio, combining my love of making and fascination with nature in all my work.
